WooooWeee! I don't think I've gone this long without blogging in a loooong time!
What a week! May is crazy busy with the girls and all of their activities. School ending, weekend trips to a hotel with an indoor water park, ceremonies for this... ceremonies for that....
I just returned home from an enjoyable evening spent with some lovely ladies.
It was nice to kick back with a (big) glass of wine and just visit.
Did I tell you guys about the Catholic/Christian store I'm going to be consigning my work at?
It's called Faithful Treasures, and it's in Colleyville (the next town over from ours). It's run buy a really nice woman named Norma.
I love her vision. Every Catholic store I have ever been to has that Saints on cards and candles, medals, etc, etc.. Just sort of a stuffy feel.
Her store is very modern Catholic Christian.
Yes people! Catholics are Christians!
I never realized that there were whole groups of Christians who don't consider Catholics to be proper Christians until I moved to the south.
I'll never forget the first time I went into a Christian store and asked if they had anything for First Holy Communions. The lady gasped and said "This is a Christian store!!"
I half expected her to hold out a crucifix to me while backing away slowly.
But I digress...
Norma is a great supporter of local artisans and has several who consign at her shop.
So, I'm excited to have started a Christian themed line.

I managed to get some work done this week, but I feel like it is just a scratch on the surface and I have so much more exploring to do. I could really get carried away on this project.
So, this is what I accomplished:
Norma seemed to like my leather and silk book marks. I was so glad, because I just love making them....
Now all we need is someone else to love them!
It's been a long week.
Good night all....

Ok now I am just loving the crosses. And congrats on your consignment. And I know exactly what you mean because I can literally feel the air warp around me and life as I know it cease to exist whenever I go back to the south to visit. P.S. the captcha word for this was Blesse

Well girlfriend, I think you accomplished quite a lot...beautiful work. I wish you all the best with your consignment work....I love the crosses.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Glad you got some time to kick back and relax.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the store thing! That's so great- and it's nice that not everything has to be a cross. Those pearl and rose items are so nice too-it'd be a good way to get people to visit your online shops too. Good luck with it, looks like a fun project!
Didn't see a comment link for the post above...weird. Just wanted to say, don't worry about the rut! Just take it as a sign that your brain and body need to get outside and do something fun. Blow off work for a day or two and you'll come back to it refreshed afterward!
ReplyDeleteThank you all! I need to keep adding to this collection!
